Prometheus - Official Full Lengt Trailer

Since its beginnings as "Untitled Alien Prequel" on IMDB, Ridley Scott's return to the genre and franchise that began his career has easily held a high spot on my eagerly, obsessively anticipated films of 2012.  While "Prometheus" has been said to not be a direct prequel anymore, its hard not to argue.  Scott himself claims it only has strands of the same DNA, and that fans will be able to connect it.  But that just doesn't seem to quite cover what it is.  When we got the very short but nonetheless fulfilling teaser trailer, we clearly saw the famous "space jockey" from "Alien"

While the teaser trailer was fulfilling, it didn't give us any idea of what the plot would actually be, it just gave us glimpses of what mayhem may be waiting come June 8.  Finally, we have a full length trailer, giving us a terrific start on the plot, as well as showing more of the mayhem present in the short teaser.

Visually, Prometheus looks unbelievable.  It was filmed in 3D, and while I will always remain a staunch skeptic and critic of the technique, I'm curious to see what it will look like here.  The landscapes and set designs are breathtaking.

Logan Marshall Green as Charlie Halloway, Noomi Rapace as Elizabeth Shaw and Michael Fassbender as Davis
The acting is another reason I'm so excited for this movie.  Boasting a cast list of the incredible Michael Fassbender (the guy that made X-Men First Class watchable as Magneto)  The always incredible Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Idris Elba and Guy Pearce, its impossible to think that this movie won't be awesome.
Michael Fassbender as David
Charlize Theron as Meredith Vickers and Idris Elba as Janek
Ridley Scott's previous two sci-fi ventures were two of the best the genre has ever offered.  (Alien, Blade Runner)  It's sure to be the best kind of science fiction film, one with depth and meaning, with an underlying sense of doom....must haves for a truly remarkable sci-fi.  So check out the trailer below, and get your first glimpse at the movie that is hitting theaters June 8th
